The Oyster Perpetual was a quiet member of the Rolex lineup until the brand introduced candy pink, turquoise, yellow, coral red and green lacquer dials. Those colours brought attention to the entry-level collection, while silver, black and blue sunray dials continued to serve as the everyday options.

Lacquer is not offered across every size: the treatment mainly appears at 31, 36 and 41mm, and only the 36mm has all five colours. Rolex trimmed part of the lacquer range after 2022, making certain colours scarcer. In 2026, the 100th anniversary of the Oyster case, the line gained a two-tone Oyster Perpetual 41 and an Oyster Perpetual 36 with the first commemorative-pattern dial.

The 41mm lacquer model now lists at NT$238,500, with secondary examples averaging about NT$322,000. In 2020, when the 41mm lacquer watch launched, it listed at NT$195,500 — a rise of more than NT$40,000 in six years. Against the roughly NT$180,000 pricing before lacquer arrived, the increase is even larger.

Despite annual increases, the OP 41 still trades above retail, though its premium is modest compared with hot sports models. For buyers who want a clean three-hand Rolex with strong identity, it remains one of the more attainable choices.
