Blancpain’s story begins in 1735 with Jehan-Jacques Blancpain’s work in Villeret, Switzerland, a point of origin that grounds the brand in traditional watchmaking. That continuity is expressed through restrained design, careful finishing and a preference for refinement that does not need to announce itself loudly.
The Fifty Fathoms, introduced in 1953 and developed with French Navy combat divers, brought a rotating bezel and water resistance for diving into the brand’s language. Alongside the Villeret and Bathyscaphe collections, it shows how Blancpain balances heritage with purpose: dive-watch capability on one side, understated elegance on the other. Each collection interprets the same principles at a different tempo, from the calm formality of Villeret to the purposeful architecture of Fifty Fathoms and Bathyscaphe. The result is a coherent wardrobe of watches, shaped by tradition yet designed for real use.
