Longines' aviation history dates to the early 20th century, and the Spirit collection picked up that thread in 2020. The new Spirit Pilot family adds four blue references: two three-hand automatics and two manual-wind flyback chronographs, shifting the line from vintage aviation toward a cleaner, contemporary tool-watch look.

The three-hand model uses a 39mm steel case and a matte blue lacquer dial with rhodium-plated applied Arabic numerals and luminous hands. This generation drops the date window and the five-star logo for a symmetrical layout, while the minute track and diamond markers every five seconds keep the pilot-watch reading tradition. Inside is the L888.4 automatic with 72 hours of power reserve, a silicon hairspring rated to more than ten times the ISO 764 anti-magnetic standard, and COSC certification.

The flyback chronograph grows slightly to 39.5mm and adds a blue ceramic bidirectional bezel with a countdown scale and a box-shaped sapphire crystal. The dial uses a bi-compax layout with small seconds at 9 and a 30-minute counter at 3. The L792.4 manual movement combines a column wheel with a flyback mechanism, beats at 28,800 vph, runs for 68 hours and is also silicon-equipped and COSC-certified.

Flyback lets the wearer reset and restart the chronograph with a single pusher while it is running, which is handy for recording consecutive intervals in flight. All four watches are water-resistant to 100m and can be paired with a steel bracelet or a blue rubber strap.
