DJ Khaled's collection has always been extroverted, but his latest reveal goes beyond a dial colour or a few extra diamonds. The American rapper and producer showed a bespoke Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked named "One Khaled" — a single piece worldwide.

The 41mm case is 18K gold, retaining the Royal Oak's octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet. Bezel, case and bracelet carry 720 baguette-cut natural chrysoberyls sourced from Brazil, with tones shifting between honey gold and yellow-green. Because the Royal Oak has so many sharp facets, the setting had to preserve the geometry while keeping the stones evenly aligned.

The openworked dial puts AP's double balance wheel architecture on display, turning the escapement and twin balances into the focal point. The project took nearly ten months, from stone selection and cutting to hand-setting, which helps explain why it cannot be repeated.

More than a gem-set Royal Oak, the watch is closer to a single-client piece combining high jewellery and complicated watchmaking. For collectors, the one-off status and celebrity provenance are enough to make it a talking point.
