Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and is headquartered in Biel/Bienne. Its collections cover distinct watchmaking roles: the Constellation, De Ville, Seamaster from 1948 and Speedmaster from 1957. Together they connect precision, exploration, sport timing and technical innovation.
The Speedmaster was flight-qualified by NASA and worn during the 1969 Moon landing, an association that underlines the brand’s focus on timing in demanding contexts. In 1999 Omega introduced the Co-Axial escapement, a technical development that shaped subsequent movements. Master Chronometer certification is carried out with METAS, adding a measurable standard to the brand’s modern engineering story.
Across these families, Omega presents a coherent view of precision: instruments for daily life, seafaring, aviation and timing, supported by movements and certification processes that make technical performance part of the design story.
